Any topic if dived deep enough is a complex topic. Notification handling seemed like a minor task at beginning, but later it unraveled into a very intriguing and engaging topic

The Brief : For Samsung’s initial internal VR headset HeadStart, we were tasked with ‘Interruption Handling’ as an area of research and study
Notification systems of various VR headset OEMs were studied
Valve,HP HTC, meta, etc were studied

Some quick observations :
•In XR notification helps users come out of immersion
•Different type of notifications maybe required to notify users while they are in various levels of immersion
Internship mentoring
Learnings :
The experience has not only honed the skills at gauging design processes of my interns but also enriched my own understanding of mentorship and collaboration
It has always been a unique opportunity for me to be able to mentor 2 interns from MIT Pune, during my time in Samsung
Mentoring two design interns has been a rewarding experience, as it allowed me to witness their growth and creativity flourish.
Their fresh perspectives challenged me to rethink design norms,
fostering an environment of mutual learning.
Both of them managed to complete their graduation projects in time, and performed commendably in their juries
Furthermore they both received PPO within the company and joined as full time employees.
